The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning -DVD- ****
I found this TV movie a massive L.A. earthquake in a bin at Wal-mart. It was originally aired over two nights, I assume, and it runs about 3 hours. It's pretty good considering the running time insists on making the pace a bit slow and the story a bit bloated.
They had great earthquake footage and some rather good performances (the best being from the guy who played Haim's dad in License to Drive.)
Little Mermaid is one of the more lovable entries in to the Disney cannon. It has several great characters and most of them return for this one. This one tells the (familiar) story of King Triton coping with his wife's death by being a really grumpy jerk and banning music from the undersea kingdom. Not sure where, but I know that I have seen this story told before.

I was doing a double feature here because I know I have a lot of busy days on the horizon, so if you see I don't post for a few days... I will be back.
I plan to check out some of the more notable films I have missed over the years, not the least of which is the Clint Eastwood monkey films.
Any film suggestions?
I think it was mentioned here once before that you never saw "The Whoopee Boys," so I would highly recommend that. Unfortunately, it was mentioned in the post you did about movies that have never been released on DVD so I would imagine it would be tough to find.
Also, did you ever see the Tom Selleck/Gene Simmons sci-fi caper "Runaway?" Classic.
